HV Woodworks

   My name is Joe Morino, woodworker/hobbyist and owner of this site. I am excited to share with you a little bit about myself so that you can understand how HV Woodworks came to be. I live in a small town in the Hudson Valley of New York, an area I was born and raised. I am first and foremost a husband to my wife, Deborah and a father to our 3 amazing children. I grew up working in the trades, as my father owned a construction company, and I would work the summers. When I graduated High School, I wasn't sure what I wanted to be but I loved my country so, I joined the Army. After almost 3 years in the Army, I returned back home and decided to work in construction type industries. I spent 10 years doing that and growing my trade skills, finally get a chance as a supervisor. From then until recently, I have held many supervisory positions with different employers. In 2023, I had an accident that made me realize how fleeting life can be. I Re-evaluated myself and came to the conclusion that I must start doing what I want to do for me and mine. But what was it that I wanted to do and what was it that I could do? I remembered an old saying about authors writing a book" Write what you know". I decided that I would "Do what I Know". That is Carpentry/Woodworking. So here we are!
